When a major UK utilities company needed 38 industrial doors installed at their facility, the project came with tight deadlines, strict safety requirements, and some unexpected challenges. Rhino Site Systems’ new Streamlined Industrial Door Solutions with Industrial Supply and Installation Service proved exactly what was needed.
The scope included four door types across the facility: single- and double-personnel doors, sliding folding doors, standard roller shutters, and fire roller shutters. Each served a specific purpose in keeping the site secure and operational.
The original schedule called for installation over four weeks, including a critical shutdown period. During this shutdown, certain doors had to be installed while the power was turned off. Missing this window would have pushed the work back to April 2026, creating major operational problems. When the time came, every door that was required during the controlled shutdown was completed on time, hitting the deadline that mattered most and ensuring the facility could power back up as planned.
The project became more complex, as the original specification was incomplete. Rhino’s sales team and site supervisor began by conducting a thorough survey to confirm the actual requirements and identify additional doors that weren’t in the original scope.
Getting on-site wasn’t simple either. Rhino had to complete a full company onboarding process, and every team member attended a mandatory one-day induction before they could start work. These requirements are standard for high-security utility sites, but they added time pressure to an already tight schedule.
Storage space was limited, so our team coordinated carefully with third-party suppliers. They used a just-in-time delivery approach, bringing doors in as needed rather than stockpiling them on site.
This kind of performance is exactly what Rhino’s Industrial Supply and Installation Service is designed for. Projects with complex requirements, strict access controls, and non-negotiable deadlines need more than just door installation. They need planning, adaptability, and a team that understands how industrial sites actually work.
During the project, the client identified additional doors that were required, with an order expected for them in December 2025. They also awarded Rhino a two-year service contract for all the installed doors.
Due to the success of this project, Rhino will be given further opportunities to quote for future projects with this client at this and other sites within the group. This project shows why Rhino developed the Streamlined Industrial Door Solutions service. Industrial sites need reliable access control, but they also need installation teams who can work within strict safety protocols, adapt to changing specifications, and deliver when operations depend on it.
The project had all these challenges, and the Rhino team handled them without disrupting the client’s operations or missing the shutdown deadline.
