Rhino Site Systems Limited (RSSL) has recently completed a challenging installation project in Sweden, where our expert team has fitted a high-performance test chamber door on behalf of our sister company, Rhino Doors.
Specialised Installation Expertise
The installation presented a unique set of challenges that showcased RSSL’s adaptability and technical expertise. Working within the constraints of a limited assembly area, our installation team employed innovative solutions to ensure the safe and effective mounting of this substantial piece of engineering.
The restricted space within the facility required careful planning and specialised equipment. We utilised a spider crane, which allowed us to minimise floor loading while safely managing the door leaf installation despite the chamber’s restricted headroom.
The three-person RSSL team completed the installation over three weeks, delivering the project on schedule despite the technical complexities.
Advanced Safety and Performance Features
The installed door represents cutting-edge engineering in specialised access solutions. This fully automated system incorporates comprehensive safety features, including light curtains and safety edges that immediately pause operation if obstacles are detected in the door’s path.
These safety mechanisms are crucial for the test chamber’s operational requirements, ensuring personnel safety and the protection of valuable test equipment.
Future-Proofed Design
A key aspect of the installation involved planning for future site developments. The current configuration will see other contractors increase the final floor level, ensuring that the floor plates in front of the closed door will be flush with the surrounding floor. This design element will facilitate seamless vehicle movement into and out of the test chamber, enhancing operational efficiency.
